Jacksonville is the biggest city in Florida and is home to numerous attractions. But big cities can get so busy sometimes that you need to take a breather. Why not take a scenic road trip from Jacksonville to Daytona Beach via the famous A1A? The trip offers fantastic ocean views, plenty of beautiful beaches on the barrier island, and several interesting stops. Visit St. Augustine, the country’s oldest city, and discover historic sites and buildings. You may even want to check out their ghost tours. Also, take a stop at Flagler Beach and see its Victorian-style buildings.
From Main Street,
•Turn left onto US-1 S.
•Take the exit toward US-90 E/US-1 S/I-95 N
•Turn right at Gulf Life Dr/Museum Cir/Museum Creek/Riverplace Blvd
•At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Gulf Life Dr/Museum Cir
•Take the ramp to I-95 S
•Merge onto Acosta Expy
•Merge onto US-1 S/US-90 E (signs for I-95 S)
•Take the exit onto I-95 S
•Take exit 344 for FL-202 E
•Turn left at FL-202 E
•Exit onto 3rd St S/Florida A1A S toward Ponte Vedra/St Augustine
•Continue to follow Florida A1A S
•Turn left at Solana Rd
•Turn right at Ponte Vedra Blvd
•Turn left at Florida A1A S/Ponte Vedra Blvd and continue following this road.
•Turn right at Main Street, cross Main Street Bridge and onto E Fairview Ave.
•Turn left at N Ridgewood Ave and you’re in Daytona Beach.
Daytona Beach is an excellent travel destination, especially during racing time. Thousands of race fans make their way to Daytona Beach’s famous Speedway to watch their favorite racers drive at a speed of up to 200 mph. You can also visit Daytona Beach’s excellent beaches, shopping districts and other attractions.
